How to prepare
A bowl in five minutes
- 1Put 4 tablespoons of kava in a strainer bag.
- 2Knead it in 4 cups of room-temperature water (no warmer than 30°C) for 1–2 minutes.
- 3When it's milky and opaque, serve in shells. Serves 4.

Questions we get asked
Is kava legal in Australia?
Yes. Our kava is commercially imported under Australia's kava import permit system and meets the Food Standards Code. Kava can't be sent to the Northern Territory.
What's the difference between noble and tudei kava?
Noble varieties are the traditional drinking kavas of Vanuatu. Tudei ("two-day") varieties are not permitted for export from Vanuatu or for sale as food in Australia. We sell noble kava only.
Five Star, Ceremonial or Lateral Roots?
Five Star is our strongest premium blend. Ceremonial is milder and easy-drinking — a good place to start. Lateral Roots is bold and peppery, for experienced kava drinkers.
How should I store my kava?
Keep it in an airtight container in a cool, dry, dark place once the vacuum seal is opened.
